OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2012. The growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan can reach 8% in 2012, the World Bank’s new report “Global Economic Prospects (GEP) 2012”.

According to the forecast of the World Bank specialists, the economy of Uzbekistan will grow by 6.5% in 2013. The report estimated that the GDP growth in Uzbekistan made up 8.3% in 2011.

The report noted that the current account balance of Uzbekistan will make up 7% to GDP in 2012 and 6% in 2013. The figure made up 8.1% in 2011, according to the World Bank estimates.
According to the Uzbek President Islam Karimov, Uzbekistan posted 8.3% GDP growth in 2011. The Government of Uzbekistan expects that the GDP of the country will increase by 8.2% in 2012.
