OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2012. After summing up production results for 2011 the oldest enterprise of „GC „Titan“ - plant „Omsky Kauchuk“ started to register achievements of the new year. Despite the crisis which is forecasted by worldwide experts, the sales of the Siberian chemical giant are kept on high level, reported the press-centre of Titan.

According to the estimates of “Group of Companies “Titan” commercial service employees, Asian market, the major importer of the plant output, remains quite active, especially taking into consideration winter season. Since the start of the year the enterprise sold about 3000 tonnes of major goods – rubber, the same amount of acetone (Belorussia, China, Uzbekistan), more than 12 000 tonnes of MTBE (major consumer – Finland), thousand tonnes of isopropylbenzene and more than 3000 tonnes of propylene (Romania, Poland).

Analyzing geography of sales, specialists of “Titan” note, that in recent years market of consumption inside Russia significantly increased, and this is why, accordingly, the volumes of overseas supplies sometimes decrease. The number of partner countries in 2011 exceeded 30.

Today Russian buyers often propose deals with more attractive prices than our old time foreign partners. Thus, phenol produced in 2011 did not leave Russia. At the same time propylene was actively consumed by our nearest neighbors – Belarus, Poland, Romania. At the time of planned economy Omsk rubber was consumed on the whole territory of the Soviet Union and in friendly countries. In 90-s geography of sales changed significantly: one tried to sell production even in small quantities – exactly in this period firm relations were established with more than 20 countries.

In recent twenty years world rubber market significantly changed, first of all, the changes occurred in mutual disposition of suppliers and buyers of the production. Transportation logistics, custom taxes and other factors make exports to the nearest foreign countries more economical. That’s why today the major foreign consumer of Omsk rubber is China, India, Malaysia, Indonesia. In case of increase of the output the goods will be shipped to the USA, Canada, Turkey, Hungary and Bulgaria.

– Our grades of rubber will be attractive for the European market since the start of styrene rubber production – exactly with this grade we can enter Eurozone, – says Director General of the Group of Companies „Titan“ Anatoly Ageyev, head of petrochemical cluster of the project „PARK: Industrial-Agricultural Regional Clusters“. – Today we can sell significantly more than our output. But the situation with feedstock remains tense – and this is the problem of the whole Russia, but in its prospective plans “Group of Companies “Titan” is planning to solve also this issue.

Russian and world markets are constantly changing its requirements, this is why increase of the range of products is one of the most effective ways to modernize production. Thus, on the previous week normal butylenes processing unit was commissioned on the plant “Omsky Kauchuk” after major repairs. This unit will produce high-octane components for motor gasolines – consumers for more than 50 000 of the annual volume are in sight, contractual work is carried out.

Opening of the polypropylene plant will add up to ten countries on “Titan’s” map. At the same time the project “PARK” is aimed at deep processing of feedstock on the territory of our region and in Russia in general. Only after saturation of these markets the production will be supplied abroad.
