OREANDA-NEWS.  January 24, 2012. KAMAZ Lean coaches were given certificates after they had completed the course “Training for KAMAZ Lean coaches at the corporate level”. The project which was launched half a year ago on the initiative of and with the active assistance of the Committee for Development of KAMAZ Production System was implemented with the participation of the representatives of KAIZEN Institute Russia (Moscow) in close cooperation with the Corporate University of KAMAZ.

24 representatives of the company’s plants and departments were trained in three main stages. Each stage included consultations and practical workshops: “KAIZEN Professional”, “KAIZEN Trainer”, and “KAIZEN Manager”.

Igor Medvedev named this event a great and serious stage in the history of KAMAZ and PSK and noted that Lean trainers would be able to solve the most difficult problems at the enterprise using the knowledge they had received at the training.

According to Andrey Gavrichenkov, Deputy Director of Kaizen Institute, the project is focused on practice, and one of its aims is self-repayment. To date, one may say that the means invested in the training were repaid due to the economic effect gained from implementation of the trainers’ projects at KAMAZ’s Frame and Stamping Plant.

The success was guaranteed also because the candidates for the training had been selected very strictly. Being on the Lean leaders in Russia, KAMAZ has got an excellent solid group of leaders which can implement projects of all scales. It is only necessary to focus their skills so that their knowledge can be used in practice.
