OREANDA-NEWS. January 24, 2012. In 2012 The Government set oneself a task to solve finally the problem of Ukraine's energy dependence. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov started on this at a press conference for central and regional media according to results of the Government’s activity in 2011 year.

He said that most problems in the economy of Ukraine down to an extremely high price of gas, which Ukraine has to pay to the Russian Federation, "I want that you all understand – if we solve the problem of gas prices, we shall remove absolutely all problems in 2012. Yes, we have a lot of problems, but they are minor in nature compared with the mentioned problem", - Mykola Azarov said.

But he added that Ukraine consumes very large amount of gas, which price is quite high, so paying for it weakens the economy, "Because these payments for gas are bloodlessness of our economy."

The Head of the Government is convinced that already this year the Government will solve this problem. "So we managed with this in 2011, and in 2012 we set ourselves the task to solve the problem clearly", - Mykola Azarov said.

He also stressed that on this issue today and it was made a decision at a meeting of National Security Council under President too.
