OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2012. In 2011 mobile operator life:) paid significant attention to the network coverage and connection quality growth. During 2011 year the operator put in operation 508 new and modernized 2,647 existing base stations, installing 9,916 additional TRX. As a result, the life:) network coverage reached 92% by territory and 98% - by population, as of January 1, 2012.

Every year mobile operator life:) works thoroughly on its network expansion, covering the remotest and the hardest to access corners of the country. Moreover, the company is regularly improving the quality level of connection, implementing new technologies in its network. In 2011 the operator installed 508 new base stations throughout the country, paying especial attention to Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv oblasts and the regions of high tourist seasons. The network got 9,916 new TRX, meanwhile, strengthening signal quality and accessibility.

In 2011 the operator pursued a number of activities in order to optimize and improve the quality of operator’s services. Thus, the project on backbone network expansion, based on new generation equipment Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), was completed and due to that the accessibility of life:) network has grown as well as data traffic rate (which is currently the best one for EDGE technology – 160-180 KB/sec) has increased.

Constant growth of quality and network coverage is accompanied with increase of customers’ satisfaction. Moreover, today such key figures as call drop indicator and network accessibility are better than the world standards and, as of the end of December of 2011, made up 0.88% and 99.92% respectively.
