OREANDA-NEWS.  January 23, 2012. Anhui generated home appliance sales revenue worths 35.8 billion yuan since December, 2008, through a national subsidy policy called "home appliance to rural areas", according to figures released by Provincial Department of Commerce.

Total 14.45 million sets of home appliance had been sold in past three years, among which, refrigerator, television, water heater, air-conditioner and washing machine secured top 5 best selling products, accounting for 90 percent of total sold volume.

The subsidy brought a huge boost to industrial growth in Anhui, which is a major domestic home appliance producer, as added value to light industry in the province rose 26 percent year on year in 2011.

Meanwhile, the policy saved considerable spending for rural residents buying home appliance, as more than 7 million households in the countryside were subsidized with total 4.41 billion yuan.
