OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2012. Negotiations on the revision of gas contracts in 2009 are coming to completion. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this at a press conference for central and regional media as a result of the Government’s activity in 2011 year.

The PM stressed that the best option is to create a trilateral gas consortium with Ukraine, Russia and the EU. As he said finance charges of Ukraine for gas transit system service rather large, but at lowering volumes of gas transportation, Ukraine has significant damage.

"Creating a trilateral gas consortium which would remove from Ukraine of a part of huge financial burden to support the GTS is the only possible one. And now, finally, we down to the final stage in these negotiations", - Mykola Azarov said, adding that he would like to make these negotiations culminated as soon as possible.
