OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2012. Dr. the Honourable Sir David K.P. Li, Chairman & Chief Executive of The Bank of East Asia (“BEA”), received the title of Commandeur in the National Order of the Legion of Honour at a bestowal ceremony, reported the press-centre of BEA.

Professor Jacques Attali, Chairman of PlaNet Finance, special adviser to the President of the French Republic, and founder and former Chairman of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Mr. Arnaud Barthelemy, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, presided over the ceremony, which was attended by over 400 guests.

The Legion of Honour was established in 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte, the First Consul of France. The award is given by the Government of France to individuals in recognition of their exceptional contributions to France and the French people.
