Supervisory Board of Segodnya Multimedia Announced Its Position
OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2012. The request of the editorial staff and chief executive of Segodnya Multimedia was investigated into from 13 December 2011 until 17 January 2012 following the decision of the Supervisory Board.
The investigation exposed the need to improve transparency of practices, methods and decision making in Segodnya Multimedia yet detected no systemwide violations.
However, the Supervisory Board exercised its right and decided to remove Igor Guzhva, editor-in-chief of Segodnya newspaper, from his position and terminate his employment. The decision is due to disagreement of Mr Guzhva with the approaches of the Supervisory Board to ensure further development of the company and introduce the principles of collegiality, openness and transparency into the decision making. In addition, Igor Guzhva took a destructive stand towards the publishing house and the edition.
The Supervisory Board also decided to satisfy the request of Alyona Gromnitskaya to leave the position of Segodnya Multimedia CEO for personal reasons. We respect the decision of Ms Gromnitskaya although regret it as the investigation did not reveal the evidence of the accusations brought against her, while the economic indicators of the publishing holding showed a stable and positive growth in September - December 2011.
The Supervisory Board expresses gratitude to the managers of Segodnya Multimedia and the editorial staff of Segodnya newspaper for the support and assistance during the investigation.
