OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2012. Currently, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food is actively preparing for spring field work. In particular, the Ministry together with scientists is working on the optimal structure of sown areas and storing up all necessary tools and materials, as in 2012 it is planned to expand cultivation areas of spring cereals. This was started by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk during a press conference.

"Agrarian producers have in stock 210 thousand tons of fertilizer nutrients for spring field work. Provision of diesel fuel is 227,000 tons, gasoline - 58 thousand tons. Provision of seeds of spring grain and leguminous crops is 892,000 tons, more than 100% of needs. Provision of sunflower seeds - 100% soy - 105%, sugar beet - 80% ", - informed the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

According to the Minister for the proper conduct of spring sowing the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food takes all necessary measures.

"Currently an optimal structure of sowing of spring crops being worked out, which include expansion of cultivation areas in 2012, corn, wheat, barley, oats, peas, grain sorghum, soybeans and cereal crops. In particular, the sown area of maize is expected to increase by 700 thousand hectares. However, the Ministry will recommend scientifically grounded load on 100 hectares of agricultural land, including natural-climatic zones and soil fertility", - Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
