OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2012. Tariff increase was due to improper control of the authorities, who must respond to these changes and take appropriate measures to avoid illegal tariff increases. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this during a session of the Cabinet.

The PM said that some leaders of local authorities, using the elimination of the state body responsible for prices in the country since January 1 had increased the rent, because that on average in the country it increased by 8.3%.

According to Mykola Azarov, it has happened because from the Ministry of regional policy, construction, housing and communal services, personally the Minister of Regional Development and construction, housing and communal services Anatoliy Blyznyuk, was not monitoring and rapid response to sudden increase in rent. Inappropriate also passive position created last year a special regulator - the commission, which performs state regulation of the utilities and personally its chairman Valeriy Saratov.

"And you do not need to refer to the fact that it is powers of local authorities. Incidentally, their decisions will have to pay from the state budget", - Mykola Azarov said, explaining that "in the country, none of the workers should not pay the utility bills of more than 15% of income and none of retirees - more than 10% of revenue".

"The difference we compensate all – taxpayers, from the state budget. So raise your hands and nod at someone, I will not allow. And who will be responsible for such decisions, we now define"- the Prime Minister said.
