OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2012. Ukio bankas granted 56 per cent more loans to agricultural entities within January – November of 2011 than in the same period last year. Amount of new agreements concluded with farmers within the first eleven months of the last year amounted to LTL 37 million and approximately 60 per cent exceeded the amount of the agreements concluded within the same period of a year 2010, reported the press-centre of Ukio Bankas.

Consolidated Ukio bankas loan portfolio granted to the farmers of Lithuania increased by 8 per cent within eleven months of 2011 and at the end of November 2011 consolidated bank loans to the farmers’ portfolio amounted to LTL 61 million. 

“Lithuanian farmers traditionally trust Ukio bankas that has concluded 500 agreements with persons and companies dealing with agricultural activity. Except for regular clients that choose supplementary services we also have a lot of new clients”, - said Mindaugas Pasvenskas, Head of Ukio bankas Credit Service Unit.

Farmers of Panevezys, Kaunas and Klaipeda region had the lead according to the amounts of new agreements concluded last year. On 30 November the biggest part of the loans to the agricultural entities was taken by Panevezys (27 per cent), Raseiniai (23 per cent), Kedainiai, Silute and Klaipeda (11–12 per cent each) regions.

According to M. Pasvenskas, in respect to the hopes and expectations of Lithuanian farmers Ukio bankas will seek to remain a reliable partner of the persons and entities dealing with agricultural business.
