OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2012. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov is convinced that there is no reason to restrict imports of Ukrainian cheese and other dairy products to the Russian market. He said this at a briefing in Khmelnytsk.

According to Mykola Azarov, if Russia introduces sanctions on Ukrainian dairy products, it primarily affected at the Russian Federation. "If suddenly of any reason, our Russian colleagues will restrict access of Ukrainian goods to the market, then they will suffer first of all because our cheeses are high quality and cheaper, so it means that Russian citizens will be forced to buy more expensive Polish cheeses"- the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister added that the results of checks carried out by Russian specialists show the quality of Ukrainian dairy products.

"I have got acquainted with the technology of production, and I can tell our Russian partners and colleagues that you still should try that Russian plants produce cheeses of such quality. Our products - a high quality product, no claims against us can not be", - said Mykola Azarov.

The Prime Minister stressed that trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Russia are regulated by the relevant agreements, breach of which can not be: "Relations between Ukraine and Russia are strictly regulated by concluding contracts which violate no one can. At the first meeting of the leaders of Ukraine and Russia, these issues will be a tough set and, of course, they will be removed".
