OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2012. The Government has postponed mandatory installation of parkomats at parking lots or entry-exit terminals not later than 1 January 2012. This innovation provided by the Cabinet’s Regulation on December 3 2009 № 1342 "On approval of Rules for parking vehicles".

"Kyiv, Donetsk, Lviv and Kharkiv will host a huge number of visitors of football championship matches, and it will create an additional burden on the existing system of parking, so it should be taken into account. Not all cities, unlike cities with population exceeding one million which have enough developed parking area, market operators often do not have sufficient funds on major investments", - the head of the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services said.

"The introduction of parkomats is delayed for one quarter - by 31 March inclusive. But until then the Government’s Regulation well defines the current mechanism of payment – buying a coupon as well as through parkomats and entry-exit terminals. Since April 1 buying of a parking coupon will be possible only in the cashless form" - Anatoliy Blyznyuk said.

As of today, according to the estimated assessment of the Ministry, we have to set at 7,000 parkomats to equip all designated for paid parking areas in Ukraine. These devices are produced by domestic manufacturers in Kyiv, Lviv and Kryvyi Rig and their value depending on the set ranges is - 10400 to 48500 UAH. Domestic parkomats are able to serve up to 20 parking places at once.
