OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2012. This has been announced by a spokesperson of the ministry of economy who has also noted that the high-voltage is ready to be put into operation. In addition, last year tow companies from Romania and Moldova – Transelectrica and Moldelectrica held talks on signing the agreement concerning exploitation and maintenance of the high-voltage 400 kWh line Vulcanesti-Isaccea.

A high-voltage 400 kWh substation of Vulcanesti is also being modernized.

As it was said earlier, the construction of high-voltage intergovernmental lines as well as the modernization of the substation of Vulcanesti would ensure additional interconnection of energy systems of Moldova and Romania, enhance the opportunities for transporting electricity between the countries and for increasing supplies of power to Romania and the Balkans countries, including that produced at Moldavian hydropower plant located in Transdniestria. President of Romania Traian Basescu has named the interaction between Chisinau and Bucharest in the energy sector one of the guidelines of bilateral cooperation and noted that the realization of joint project will become possible under support of the European Union.
