Estonian Air Becomes Most Punctual in Baltic & Nordic Countries
OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2012. In 2011 the 15-minute punctuality of Estonian Air flights was 90.8%, which is 4.1 percentage points higher than last year. According to this Estonian Air is the most punctual airline in the Baltic and Nordic countries, reported the press-centre of Estonian Air.
The 90.8% punctuality shows that in average 90.8 flights out of hundred departed on time (within 15 minutes). According to Tero Taskila, the CEO of Estonian Air, this is very good result compared to the average punctuality figure of the industry. “For an airline with a smaller fleet and number of flights every single delay has a bigger effect. Therefore this punctuality is an even more valuable achievement. The punctuality of European airlines is an average 86%,” added Taskila.
Estonian national carrier Estonian Air has been among the best in Europe for several years when it comes to punctuality and regularity. Estonian Air was recognized as the most punctual airline on the ceremony of Aviation Awards 2010, hosted by Brussels Airport, serving 80 airlines from different regions around the world. Brussels Airport has been presenting the annual punctuality award to highlight the importance of in time departure of flights.
In 2009 Estonian Air was nominated as the most punctual airline in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, which is serving more than 100 airlines from all over the world.
