OREANDA-NEWS.  January 13, 2012. Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3.9 percent year-on-year in December, down 0.1 percentage point from November and 0.2 percentage point lower than national average level, according to Anhui Investigation Team of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The CPI was up 5.4 percent in 2011 from the previous year, above the government's full-year inflation control target of 4 percent. The food price increased by 8.8% year on year in December, 2011, which accounted for 2.75 percentage in CPI calculation.

The price of eggs dipped 2.2% year on year, which is the only food whose price dropped year on year.

The price of tobacco and liquor rose 5.4% year on year in December, 2011. The price of clothes rose 3.1% year on year.

On a monthly basis, the price of food kept rising trend. The price of food rose 1.4% month on month in December, 2011.
