OREANDA-NEWS.  January 12, 2012. Over 3100 tons of rolls shall be supplied for NLMK and Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works in 2012. The contracts awarded after successful bidding provide for supply of work and back-up rolls for hot and cold rolling mills including rolls with 3% and 5% Cr content.

Uralmashplant successfully cooperates with MMK and NLMK for a long time already every year covering a considerable part of their annual requirements in rolls.

Manufacture of rolls for rolling mills is a priority production line for Uralmashplant. The rolls produced by Uralmash are used in rolling mills for fabrication of various rolled materials: from the thinnest tin and foil to plates and large blanks.

At present, with support of the principal shareholder - Gazprombank - Uralmashplant is implementing a large-scale program of comprehensive modernization of production facilities, including those engaged in the production of rolls. In particular, the first stage of the forging complex modernization was fulfilled on the basis of 10,000 ton press. The machinery undergoes active renewal and repairs. The plans for the nearest future provide for construction of a differential heat treatment department for back-up rolls for cold and hot rolling.
