This is provided by the agreement on financing the Program on Confidence-Building Measures between two banks of the Dniester, which was signed by Prime-Minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat and head of the Delegation of the European Union in Moldova Dirk Schuebel in Chisinau.
The program is going to be realized within 2012-2015. To implement it this year, Moldova will be given another 1,1 mln. euros of gratuitous financial aid from UNDP. The reintegration of the state is of highest importance for Moldova’s authorities, and the program, backed by EU, is aimed to facilitate the achievement of this goal, Vladimir Filat has stressed. The Program consists of three components: technical assistance, assistance to local development and support for civil society.
The focus will be made on the realization of social and economic projects, development of infrastructure, and assistance in bridging Chisinau and Tiraspol economies. The projects to be realized within the program are planned to be thoroughly selected and approved by Moldova and Transdniestria. Besides, a business center in Ribnita is going to be opened, which will be the third one following business centers in Tiraspol and Bender. Alongside with this, the EU Information Center is planned to be opened in the Tiraspol State University. Implementation of this and other projects will allow creating conditions for real reintegration of Transdniestria region into the social and economic space of Moldova, Vladimir Filat has stressed.
According to the earlier adopted resolution, the realization of the projects in Transdniestria is to be assigned to 15% of the total sum of means allotted to Moldova by the European Union, the prime minister has reminded.
