OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2012. The government of Moldova will refuse subsidizing the purchases of fertilizers and the coverage of irrigational expenses.

As the ministry of agriculture and food informs, the respective sections have been excluded from the draft regulation on subsidies for agriculture for 2012 as the result of the discussion of the document by representatives of the agriculture ministry and such non-governmental organizations in the agro-industrial sector as the National Federation of Farmers, UniAgroProtect, Agroinform, Moldova-Fruct, the Association of Producers an Exporters of Grapes).

According to the document, presented by the Agency on Intervention and Payments in Agriculture, the beginning of subsidizing is considered last November. Thus, this year all contracts concluded by economic entities with the Agency since November, 2011 are liable to payment.

In 2012 subsidies are assigned to simulate crediting of agricultural producers, to insure risks in agriculture, to support establishment of perennial plantations and production of vegetables in sheltered ground, to purchase new farming machines and equipments, irrigational and hail suppression system, to establish and reconstruct cattle farms, to purchase stud, stimulate investments into development of the infrastructure on processing and packing harvested products, etc. The budget for 2011 provides 400 mln. leis to subsidize agricultural sector, just as the budget of 2011 did.
