OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2012. Application term for the competition on creating the national symbols for protected geographical indications has been prolonged till February,1. Such a decision was made by the special competition commission due to the small number of participants had applied for the competition till the term defined - December, 12, 2011.

During the competition members of the commission are to select the best works which then will be presented to the government for approval as the national symbols relevant to the geographical indications, names of places of origin and guaranteed national products protected by the law in force. These national symbols are to be used for labeling products made in Moldova or in other countries which are sold under the names of places of origin, geographical indications or which are traditional protected products in Moldova.

Three awards are established in each category of national symbols to reward winners of the competition. The national organizing commission has invited all artists and designers of Moldova, students of departments where arts are studied and all creative people to take part in this prestigious competition.
