Azerbaijan’s Power Generation Rose by 8.7% in 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2012. Azerbaijani national energy producer Azerenerji OJSC increased generating power in December 2011 by 10.5% compared to November’s index.
In 2011 power generation in the Azerenerji system exceeded overall power generation by 8.7% versus 2010 , when it made up 98.9% of the 2009 figure.
The Azerenerji’s press service, citing the Central Dispatcher Control Office, reported that it was generated 2.1 bn kWh of electricity in December (best indicator in 2011) versus 1.9 bn kWh in November.
In 2010 highest generation was registered in January (1.9 bn kWh) and repeated in November.
“Last December it was generated 1.9 bn of kWh of power at thermal electric power stations and 200 million at hydroelectric power stations," Azerenerji informed. In November generation made 1.7 bn and 200 million kWh respectively.
"In 2011 generation was 20 bn kWh, including 17.3 bn kWh at TEPS and 2.7 bn at HEPS,” it was reported.
In 2010 it was generated 18.4 bn of kWh of power. Data on thermal and hydroelectric power stations was not published.
In 2009 power generation made up 18.6 bn kWh (including 16.3 bn kWh at thermal power stations and 2.3 bn kWh at hydroelectric power stations) and in 2008 - 21.2 bn kWh (including 19 bn kWh and 2.2 bn kWh respectively).
