OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2012. The winners of the fifth anniversary competition Philanthropist of the Year were announced on the 13th of December during joint press conference of the Supervisory Board, Media Council, Organizing Committee and Competition Jury.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the competition Philanthropist of the Year, singer Mariya Burmaka; the member of the Media Council, deputy chairman of The National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council Larysa Mudrak, chairman of the Organizing Committee, the President of Ukrainian benefactors’ association Oleksandr Maksymchuk, chairman of the Jury, the President of ACF Dytyachyi Svit (Children’s World) Serhiy Letenko participated in the event.

Anniversary competition Philanthropist of the Year was launched in late March. It gathered a record number of applications; there were 160 of them. This is twice more than last year. "We certainly hoped that competition will gather a large number of applications, but we did not expect such a high activity", – said the chairman of competition Organizing Committee Oleksandr Maksymchuk. Oleksandr Maksymchuk also congratulated all those in attendance on Charity Day commemorated in Ukraine on Sunday, the 11th of December.

This year winners were determined in 12 competitive categories. PJSC "Concern Galnaftogaz" gained the victory in the category "National company – big business" for the project of implementation of accessibility requirements in OKKO filling complexes network and purchase of the vehicle for Social taxi in L’viv.

We should remind that accessibility project is implemented in OKKO network for the third year already; we adapt OKKO filling complexes for unimpeded access of people with special needs, including equipment of rest rooms for disabled people.

Solemn award ceremony for winners of the National competition Philanthropist of the Year – 2011 will take place on the 15th of December, 2011 at the National Cultural-Art and Museum Complex Mystetskyi Arsenal (Kyiv, 12 Lavrska str.).
