OREANDA-NEWS. January 6, 2012. HRT Participacoes em Petroleo S.A. (the “Company” or “HRT”) (BM&FBOVESPA: HRTP3, TSX-V: HRP) announces that its subsidiary HRT O&G Exploracao e Producao de Petroleo Ltda (“HRT O&G”), on January 02 at 09:30 p.m., spudded the well 1-HRT-6-AM, in the prospect named Eucalipto (1-HRT-170/06-AM), located in the Solimoes Basin, in the Municipality of Tefe-AM, in the Block SOL-T-170.

The objective of this well is to test a 20 km2 area structure, located around 10 km southwest of the Araracanga Field and 20km southwest of the oil production well 1-BRSA-769-AM. It has as main targets the Jurua Formation reservoirs (Carboniferous age), expected to be reached from 2,950m depth, as well as the Uere Formation (Devonian age). The well has been drilled by the rig Tuscany-115, and is forecast to reach a final depth at around 3,400m.
