OREANDA-NEWS. January 4, 2012. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company continues to pay insurance settlements to tourists who have suffered from suspension of operations of a tour operator Luzhniki Travel Company LLC, the liability of which has been insured for 30 million rubles.

The insurance company reimburses suffered tourists their actual duly documented expenses. As of December 20 this year, the payments amounting to 10,441,527.04 rubles under 63 claims for losses from 159 tourists have been made. As of the current date Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has already registered 86 claims for compensation of losses from 219 tourists. The total amount of claimed losses makes 18,314,564.39 rubles. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company continues to accept claims from suffered tourists and pay for the insurance claims in full.

Examination of claims from tourists suffered from suspension of operations of the tour operator Luzhniki Travel Company LLC is carried out in terms, established by the legislation.

Please note that according to insurance terms a payment of compensation is carried out relating to each suffered tourist after the date of hisher tour beginning. It is this point that determines the date of obligation occurrence of Luzhniki Travel Company LLC to compensate for the damage, and, accordingly, the date of the insured event under the contract of public liability insurance of the tour operator.

As of the current date, the amount demanded from injured persons has not exceeded the sum insured under the contract of liability insurance of the tour operator (30 million rubles). The insurance company is going to pay insurance settlements in the full amount of the claims made.

This is to remind that Luzhniki Travel Company LLC announced the suspension of its obligations performance on August 9, 2011, as a result of which the tour operator’s customers failed to use previously paid tours and make scheduled trips. Under the contract of public liability insurance, nonperformance or improper performance by Luzhniki Travel Company LLC of its obligations is an insurance event, and respectively the losses incurred by tourists are to be compensated through the insurance company.
