Personnel Reshuffle Made in Gazprom’s Top Management
OREANDA-NEWS. January 03, 2012. Gazprom has newly appointed the following top managers:
Vitaly Markelov as Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee in charge of the production block;
Vladimir Markov as Head of the Department for Relations with the Russian Federation Authorities;
Elena Mikhailova as Head of the Asset Management and Corporate Relations Department.
The decision was also taken to dissolve the Strategic Development Department. A Prospective Development Department and a Project Operations Department will be set up instead. Heads of these structural units will be appointed later.
Alexander Ananenkov, Viktor Ilyushin and Olga Pavlova have been relieved of their posts.
The relevant decisions on termination or granting of authorities as members of the Management Committee of Gazprom will be taken by the Company's Board of Directors.
Background
Vitaly Markelov was born on August 5, 1963 in Mordovia. He graduated from Kuibyshev Aviation Institute, majoring in Operation of Aircraft and Airborne Engines.
Between 1991 and 1997 he was Head of the Morki Line Pipe Operation Center.
From 1997 to 2000 he was working as Chief Engineer, Deputy Director General of Volgotransgaz.
In 2000–2003 he was Deputy Director General for Gas Transportation and Utilization at Tomskgazprom.
Between 2003 and 2011 Vitaly Markelov was Director General of Gazprom transgaz Tomsk, since November 2011 – Director General of Gazprom invest Vostok.
Vladimir Markov was born on October 4, 1955 in the Tambov Oblast. He graduated from Ryazan Radio Engineering Institute, majoring in Industrial Electronics; Academy of Natural Sciences, majoring in Socio-Political Relations Theory; Moscow Academy of Economics and Law, majoring in Law. He holds a PhD in Law and a PhD in Economics.
From 1976 to 1978 and from 1982 to 1984 he was working at Ryazan Electronic Instruments Plant.
He took various offices at Ryazan District and Oblast Committees of the USSR Communist Party.
Between 1993 and 1996 he was Deputy Major, Major of Ryazan.
From 1996 to 1999 – First Deputy Head of the Ryazan Oblast Administration.
In 1999–2007 he was Director General of Ryazanregiongaz.
Between 2007 and 2011 – Member of the Russian Federation State Duma, Member of the State Duma Committee for Energy.
From February 2011 up to date Vladimir Markov has been Deputy Head of Gazprom's Department for Relations with the Russian Federation Authorities.
Elena Mikhailova was born on April 28, 1977 in the Pskov Oblast. She graduated from Moscow State Industrial University, majoring in Law, received an MBA degree from the Academy of National Economy under the Russian Federation President.
Between 1997 and 1999 she was Legal Advisor at the Legal Group of the Trade Directorate under the Russian Ministry of Interior.
From 1999 to 2003 she was Legal Advisor, Head of the Legal Department in a commercial organization.
In 2003 Elena Mikhailova was appointed Director for Corporate Relations and Asset Management at Mezhregiongaz. From December 2003 up to date she has been Deputy Director General for Corporate Relations and Asset Management at Mezhregiongaz.
