OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2011. The Government will implement the European standards of quality control of food and nonfood products. This was started on Thursday by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov in the program "Exam for authority".

"We have taken as model EU directives in the approaches to quality assessment of quality and control for quality to avoid reinventing the wheel. And in this spirit we build this system", - Mykola Azarov said. But he added that on Monday, December 26, the Government adopted two draft laws and 11 regulations of the Cabinet to decide complex issues of quality control of food and nonfood products, establish risk criteria and procedure for inspection of enterprises.

At the same time the Prime Minister recalled that in pursuance of his orders inspections of enterprises that produce food products and companies that produce non-food products were carried out. As the results of inspections, virtually all samples of products do not meet state standards and quality requirements.

Mykola Azarov promised that the new quality control system will work next year. "This system will be arranged, it will work next year when the company and any businessman who has made so important a matter as food processing, is not only profitable, but risky to produce substandard products" - the Prime Minister said.
