Ukraine and German to Improve Efficiency of Electricity Transmission
OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2011. On December 30, 2011 year it was signed an Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on Financial Cooperation and Loan Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and a German government-owned development bank KfW for a loan amounting to 65.5 million euro to finance the project "Increasing the efficiency of transmission (upgrading substations SE" NPC "Ukrenergo"). "
The project includes the reconstruction and modernization of five high-voltage substations of Dnieper and Donbass power systems and allows increasing reliability, reducing accidents at work stations by installing modern electrical equipment, manufactured using new materials and modern technology.
The total cost of the project will be 80.4 million euro, including:
- loan of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany - 40.5 million euro;
- KfW - 25,0 million euro
- co-funding of the Ukrainian side (SE "NPC" Ukrenergo ") - 13.1 million.
