OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2011. The stakeholders register of the public-private partnership OAO AKME Engineering had to be modified as a 50% ownership interest was acquired by coal and power company Irkutskenergo which is a subsidiary of OAO EuroSibEnergo. Previously these shares belonged to its other subsidiary OOO EuroSibEnergo-Consult. The remaining 50% interest belongs to the State Corporation Rosatom.

Irkutskenergo and EuroSibEnergo-Consult agreed on the transaction of the aforementioned shares in July 2011. In the end of August the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia accepted a bid by Irkutskenergo to acquire a 50% interest in OAO AKME Engineering. In October the acquisition was approved by Rosatom as an equitable owner.

Vladimir Petrochenko, CEO of OAO AKME Engineering:

“Being a public-private partnership and rapidly developing asset OAO AKME Engineering has obtained a reliable shareholder with a 55-year history and relevant operational and managing experience. Essentially, Irkutskenergo represents the whole electric power system of Siberia. I’m convinced that this experience will serve as a backbone for OAO AKME Engineering, especially in the times when the project SVBR-100 is going to its industrial phase”.

Evgeniy Fyodorov, CEO of OAO Irkutskenergo and OAO EuroSibEnergo:

“Irkutskenergo as a key asset of EuroSibEnergo has a talent pool and technological capacity sufficient to carry out projects of any difficulty in the power sector. Besides, acquisition of OAO AKME Engineering shares goes in line with the plan to create a power-producing business cluster of EuroSibEnergo in the Irkutsk region.
