Mr HM Nerurkar, Managing Director, Tata Steel has been conferred with the CEO of the Year Award-2011 by Indian Institute  of Materials Management (IIMM) today at a function held at the Beldih Club. The  award was handed over to Mr Nerurkar by Mr Shivaji Sinha, Chairman of IIMM Jamshedpur  branch, amidst the CEOs and senior executives of various companies and other  eminent personalities of Jamshedpur.

IIMM  honors the eminent personalities for their positive contribution towards the  development of the nation every year. This year the institute honoured Mr  Hemant M Nerurkar, Managing Director of Tata Steel, for his outstanding  contribution towards the National Development through effective and efficient  Supply Chain Management, as the leader of the private sector industry. Mr Azim  Premji,  Mr Naveen Jindal, Mr JJ Irani  and Mr B Muthuraman, Mr Ashok Sinha,  Mr  Rajiv Bajaj etc are some of the earlier recipients of this prestigious awards.

While  receiving the award, Mr Nerurkar said, “I consider myself to be honoured and  priviledged to receive such a prestigious award. I would like to appreciate  IIMM’s endeavors of keeping a subject like material management quite active and  popular in Jamshedpur. However, I must mention that it wouldn’t have been  possible for me to make this achievement without the thorough support of my colleagues  who have always stood by me under every circumstance. I thank IIMM for  considering me worthy of receiving this prestigious award.”

Indian Institute of Materials Management  (IIMM) is the prime professional institution for professionals of Supply Chain  Management in India since the last 40 years.
