OREANDA-NEWS. December 28, 2011. Azerbaijan and Qatar have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the area of civil aviation.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Azerbaijan reports that in connection with the planned opening of scheduled flight Doha-Baku by Qatar Airways and in accord with the Qatari side’s suggestion there were held talks in Baku between the delegations of civil aviation of Azerbaijan and Qatar.

During the talks the parties discussed the opening of regular flights between Azerbaijan and Qatar, as well as prospects for further cooperation in the field of civil aviation.

Following the negotiations the sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding, which provides additional opportunities to airlines in Azerbaijan and Qatar for collaboration. In addition, the Azerbaijani side has received for consideration the several proposals for amending the existing Agreement on air services.
