Thanks to the remitting efforts, recently Bayi Steel was approved by International Automotive Task Force (IATF) to obtain TS16949 quality management system certificate. By far, Bayi Steel has knocked opened the door of automobile manufacturing industry and achieved new breakthrough in product mix adjustment.

TS16949 quality management system is the certification system set up by IATF with a view to adapt to the global purchase requirements of automobile industry to cut down purchase cost. The system highlights the concepts and methods such as customer satisfaction, sustained improvements, argumentation by multiple parties, characteristics of products and production process, etc. The enterprises possessing TS16949 certificates are deemed to get the passport of their products to enter the automobile manufacturing industry.

Starting from June last year, Bayi Steel drew the curtain of TS16949 quality management system certification officially. From concepts learning, training by specialists and weekly promotion meeting to team organization, learning atmosphere fostering, understanding and application of the methods and tools of system certification, Bayi Steel enters a brand-new field of learning and improvement. In the period, 18 subordinate units took part in the certification learning successively. During the practice, each unit of Bayi Steel made the trials of guiding and perfecting the work with the tools and methods of quality management system certification, and using TS16949 system to solve the difficulties coming forth in the work. Take cold rolling plant as the example, after the efforts of some time, the cost due to product quality is reduced. In the meantime, 12 teams are set up, 102 cases are selected and compiled, which laid the solid foundation for quality improvement and product expansion of cold-rolled automotive sheets. Now in Bayi Steel, the emphasis of fundamental management is not only consideration of capacity, but more attention is paid to sustained improvement of quality and sustained reduction of cost, so the fundamental management level on site keeps improving.

On August 22 and 23, Bayi Steel passed the first stage on-site review, on September 26 to 29, the second stage on-site review is passed. After BSI applying to International Automotive Task Force (IATF) for approval, the certificate was received recently.

Passing TS16949 quality management system certification not only enables the products of Bayi Steel to knock open the door of automobile manufacturing industry, but more importantly drives the sustained progress of control in various work of production and quality of Bayi Steel, which is conducive to further improvement of the market reputation and competitiveness of the products of Bayi Steel.
