Transstroymekhanisatsiya Won Tender for Sheremetyevo Airport Upgrade
OREANDA-NEWS. December 28, 2011. Transstroymekhanisatsiya (TSM, a Mostotrest subsidiary) has won an open tender for a construction and assembly contract under the Sheremetyevo International Airport Upgrade and Development Project (Stage 1). Valued in excess of RUB5.3 billion (VAT inclusive), the contract is scheduled for completion 18 months after signing.
Sheremetyevo International Airport Upgrade and Development Project (Stage 1) has been developed pursuant to a decree by the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), and is an integral part of the Federal Target Program Modernization of Russia's Transport System.
The project envisions upgrade and extension of the airport infrastructure in accordance with traffic projections. Specifically, TSM will upgrade Sheremetyevo-2 tarmac which links to Runway 2, upgrade taxiways (TW-12, TW-13 and TW-14); extend Sheremetyevo-1 western tarmac and arrange polyvalent multi-type aircraft parking stands; and build an aircraft antifreeze treatment stand. In accordance with the contract, Runway 2 taxiways will be upgraded with no hindrance to Runway 1 operation.
In addition, TSM will upgrade drainage facilities, install lighting navigational aids, aircraft parking stand light towers, terminal building light warning systems and lightning arresters.
All project solutions are in line with ICAO requirements. International Civil Aviation Organization is a UN agency, which sets international civil aviation standards and oversees its development with a view to ensure safety and efficiency.
