Datagroup Remains One of Fastest Growing Telecom Operators
OREANDA-NEWS. December 27, 2011. The Private Joint Stock Company "Datagroup” announces the preliminary results of work in 2011. The company showed steady growth throughout the year, the main indicators of the company increased by several times.
As of December 1, 2011 the subscriber base of "Domashniy Telecom" makes 140.6 thousand broadband subscribers, including 20 thousand TV subscribers (increase of 129 per cent broadband access compared to the end of 2010) and more than 107.3 thousand telephone subscribers (increase of 3 per cent compared to 2010).
Due to its growth by the results of the current year, Datagroup will share the 5th place (plus 2 positions compared to 2010) by the number of subscribers in the top 10 of the leading players in the broadband access market.
In the corporate segment the company has also shown growth in the number of subscribers: about 10 per cent to the end of 2010.
Datagroup has also grown in the monetary terms. According to the preliminary financial statements, the profit increased by 22 per cent to 21 mln. Hrn, net income excluding VAT is 502 mln. Hrn (409 mln. Hrn in 2010).
The company developed and grew steadily in 2011. The retail broadband Internet access has become a service-driver. Thanks to ingenious strategy and geographic expansion of the network the share of retail business accounted for 37 per cent in the revenue structure of Datagroup. Datagroup continues to maintain its leading positions in other market segments, and in some of them it even increases the positions. The company's share in the professional data transfer is 33 per cent (5 per cent higher than in 2010). In the satellite communication segment, Datagroup has kept undoubted leadership all over the CIS territory, with its market share of 77 per cent. At the inter-operator segment the company also maintains its leadership with the market share of 21 per cent.
This year, the operator has increased the capacity of outer channels. As of December 1, 2011, the capacity of the network in the Western direction is 58 Gbps (as of the end of 2010 — 36 Gbps), in the Eastern direction — 229 Gbps (as of the beginning of 2010 — 139 Gbps).
