OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2011. Rompetrol Group, through the social responsibility program – Together for Everyone, supported with USD 10,000 the equipment of ISU/SMURD Bihor teams with an informational system to assist decision-making, a one of a kind system in
„This project comes as a reconfirmation of our commitment to support a vital area such as health. Through this approach and through our annual Jet A1 fuel donation partnership with SMURD to operate helicopters for emergency situations interventions, we wish to contribute to facilitate medical actions and save human lives” declares Alexey Golovin, Communication and Marketing Manager of Rompetrol Group.
The project proposed by Sartiss Association and carried on during August 30th – December 10th, 2011 aimed at equipping extrication teams with a mobile informational system to assist decision-making (Crash Recovery System) composed of a software containing all models and structures of vehicles existing for civilian use (20,000 models) and portable computers. This software will allow fast identification by the extrication team of those structure elements that could endanger the lives of the victims or of the rescuers, their removal and extrication of persons trapped in the damaged car body, while facilitating fast intervention of medical team.
In the project were involved 10 volunteers which carried out 11 training sessions on the use of mobile informational systems for 132 persons, members of extrication teams, of first aid teams and personnel of ISU Bihor dispatching centre. Moreover, the benefits of this program were presented during the National Conference on Emergency Medicine and Special Situations Life Saving.
" Given that the technological developments in the automotive industry introduce newer security features to protect passengers, the task of extrication teams is difficult because these elements are transformed into true technological traps, when not deadly, after the vehicle was involved in a collision. Decision-making support system avoids these technological traps and increases safety in interventions, reduces the duration of extrication procedure and of course, reduces mortality”, says Dr. Hadrian Borcea, president of SARTISS and coordinator of SMURD Bihor.
