This year, the general quality of tinplate products supplied by Baosteel Ltd. to CPMC Holdings Ltd. is improved by 6% y-o-y, facilitating the stable batch production of CPMC. This is the message from the summary meeting of Baosteel Ltd. - CPMC Holdings Ltd.  2011 Technical Cooperation Projects.

CPMC is the leading enterprise in domestic packaging industry, and also a loyal customer of Baosteel Ltd.'s tinplate products, both parties have maintained good cooperations for many years. Since this year, Baosteel Ltd. centers on customer's demands and further taps the potential to carry out technical cooperation with CPMC.

With the principles of "technical exchange, quality enhancement, close cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win", both parties set up 6 technical projects including the research on finishing property and material applicability, life cycle assessment, etc. at the beginning of the year through in-depth and meticulous communications. Both parties adopted the cooperation modes of cooperative brainstorming, exchange and summary in stages, tracking and feedback, etc., to enhance the effect of cooperation. Through efforts, now most projects have achieved favorable effects.

On the basis of the technical cooperations this year, both parties determined the technical cooperation projects for the next year, which include tinplate corrosion resistance improvement project, tinplate thinning for energy saving and emission reduction, testing and benchmarking of key indices of tinplate, etc.
