DTEK Built New Substation for EURO 2012
OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2011. Service-Invest has held an opening ceremony of the Airport-110 kV Substation. The company constructed the substation as part of the Programme on Preparation for the 2012 European Football Championship. The key objective of the power facility is to ensure uninterrupted electricity supplies for a new air terminal complex in Donetsk. DTEK’s investments amounted to UAH 96 m.
It is the first time when an energy supplying company of Donbass region has installed 110 kV high-tech electric equipment manufactured by Swedish АВВ company. The reliability of the substation is ensured by two transformers of 40 МVА each, a 110 kV switchgear, a 6 kV switchgear, emergency automation and protection devices. An advanced monitoring system enables tracking the operation of the installations and on-line data transfer to the dispatcher centre of Service-Invest (DTEK).
‘We have taken one more step to throw open the air gate of our region: we have commissioned the Airport 110 kV substation. The substation applies energy saving technologies, which is of special importance for Donetsk region. After renovation, the airport will have higher electricity demand. In future, we also plan to use this substation to service the northern part of Donetsk, so, prudent and, I would say, thrifty electricity consumption is essential’, Andrey Shishatskiy, the Chairman of Donetsk Regional State Administration, said.
Once again, Service-Invest confirmed its status of a reliable partner. Efficient functioning of all DTEK units, cooperation with the Regional State Administration, and properly organized interaction with contractors laid the foundation for the successful construction, which was completed on time. It is symbolic that the opening ceremony was due on the Power Industry Employees’ Day. Large-scale investment into high technologies is one of the main directions for DTEK’s development. ‘The substation uses technological solutions of the 21st century which is a guarantee of the high reliability of power supply for the Donetsk international airport’, Igor Maslov, Deputy Electricity Generation and Sales Director of DTEK, said.
