OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2011. Belarus’ Government hopes to finalize the year 2011 raising USD 4 billion worth of direct foreign investments, Vice Premier Sergei Rumas told a joint session of Belarus’ parliament.

With USD 2.5 billion worth of Beltransgaz privatization proceeds taken into account, Belarus will end up with USD 4 million worth of direct foreign investments raised by the end of 2011, Rumas said.

Belarus has succeeded in netting USD 1.3 billion in direct foreign investments in Jan-Sep 2011, which makes around 20% of the year target, Rumas said.

By November 2011 Belarus has signed 65 investment agreements worth USD 5.7 billion, Rumas informed. The total number of investment agreements in the making is 820, with over USD 15 billion worth of investments to be raised, he added.
