OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2011. A 48 MW GT powerplant fired by associated petroleum gas was put into operation at Krasnoleninskoe field of LUKOIL Western Siberia. That is the third powerplant built by LUKOIL Western Siberia using Perm gas turbines. The first one - Vatjeganskaya GTES-72 powerplant - was put into service early in 2008; the second one - Tevlinsko-Russkinskaya GTES-48 powerplant - in 2009.

Krasnoleninskya GTES-48 powerplant consists of four 12 MW units with the GTU-12PG-2 gas turbine developed by Aviadvigatel and made by PMZ used as a generator drive.

Aviadvigatel does not only design the GTU-12PG-2 and supply the equipment, but also provides MRO services for the GT powerplants based on their gas turbines.

Today Russian OEMs of gas turbine equipment offer their customers the aftermarket support within the standard requirements of operation documents which typically includes maintenance during scheduled shutdown.

Aviadvigatel offered a new approach to maintaining gas turbine equipment in a serviceable condition - company special MRO service. According to this new concept Aviadvigatel provides 365 days/ 24-hour maintenance and support throughout the entire lifecycle of the equipment thereby providing continuous operation of the GT powerplant. Aviadvigatel also provides spares and conducts all types of equipment repair (including major overhaul). The Customer, in turn, must operate the gas turbine powerplant in accordance with the technical documentation requirements, timely report about equipment operation and faults and ensure an unrestricted access of Aviadvigatel specialists to the equipment. The Customer pays for the powerplant operating hours. The commercial component is calculated based on the actual operating time of the GT powerplant and the cost of 1 hour of the unit operation.

In 2010, Aviadvigatel signed a contract for the company special maintenance throughout the entire lifecycle for 10 units of LUKOIL Western Siberia. The main indicator of the work quality is the annual operating time which is more than 8 000 hours.

The units of the new GT powerplant will also be maintained by Aviadvigatel. Commissioning of the GTES-48 GT powerplant will allow the Western Siberia oil producers to bring the level of associated petroleum gas utilization at Krasnoleninskoe field up to 95% and supply power to oil fields.

LUKOIL Western Siberia is planning construction of two more GT powerplants totaling to 96 MW with Perm gas turbines that must be put into service in 2012. Unlike the previous powerplants based on the GTU-12PG-2, these will be used in a combined cycle (CHP plants) that will increase efficiency of fuel gas burn and reduce heat and power cost. New GT powerplants will also be maintained by Aviadvigatel.
