Social Policy of Ukrainian Govt Based on Request of Society
OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2011. Government social policy is based on the request of society; NGOs take part in forming and control of policy. This was stressed by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at a session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Mykola Azarov noted that in 2011 the Government in entirely new way came to the transformations in the social sphere, involving civil society to state policy.
"The Government has launched a broad social dialogue it is the only way to transfer request people to social and economic changes in the practical tasks of state policy", - the Prime Minister stated, focusing on the almost weekly meetings with representatives of NGOs and he plans to further conduct meetings with. "First of all those in whose interests are occurring, or badly needed reforms those directly determine the quality of life. These are housing, utilities, consumer protection, education and support for young professionals, maternity and childhood health. These meetings helped to understand what really concerns people who actually slows down or changes for the better. From these meetings is the direct effect: reports, comments, suggestions community leaders soon became the basis for government orders, which controls the Prime Minister personally. A strategic effect is that government policy is based on the demands of society and public organizations involved in shaping and monitoring of this policy", - Mykola Azarov said.
At the same time Prime Minister emphasized that continuing work to ensure the welfare of citizens, despite the unstable state of the global economy, the Government next year will find provisions in the state budget to increase social security.
