In the afternoon of December 15, the new bright skin pass project to produce stainless steel top BA products, which is developed independently by Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group with EPC (the general contracting of engineering, purchase and construction) mode for the first time, was smoothly handed over to Stainless Steel Business Unit Ningbo Baoxin Company. This approach symbolized that Baosteel has made new breakthrough in independent integration and innovation of stainless steel cold rolling equipment.

Chairman Xu Lejiang of Baosteel Group Corporation, president Ma Guoqiang of Baosteel Ltd., secretary Chen Lixing of the CPC Ningbo Beilun District Committee and president Toshinori Miki of Nisshin Steel Co., Ltd. attended the project handover ceremony, and initiated the ball representing new profit growth point of Ningbo Baoxin Company together. Chairman Cui Jian of Ningbo Steel, vice president of Baosteel Ltd. and president of Stainless Steel Business Unit Lou Dingbo, vice president of Baosteel Ltd. Zhou Jianfeng, president of Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group Jiang Weimin, district mayor of Ningbo Beilun District Hua Wei, executive managing officer of Mitsui & Co. Motomu Takahashi, Party secretary of China Metallurgical Tiangong Shanghai Shisanye Construction Co.,Ltd. Qian Shen, etc. attended the ceremony.

The new bright skin pass project is an important technical revamping project of Ningbo Baoxin Company. After the project was completed and put into production, 60,000t capacity of stainless steel BA sheets will be added each year, which can improve the added value of products and market competitiveness of Ningbo Baoxin greatly. The project is generally contracted by Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group with EPC mode, apart from some imported mechanical equipment, all the other major equipment is designed and manufactured locally. The project started construction in middle July last year. With the joint efforts of each party participating the construction, the stainless steel bright annealing line and stainless steel skin pass line completed hot load commissioning on September 28 and November 15 this year successively, more than 1 month ahead of the expected schedule.

The smooth handover of Ningbo Baoxin's new bright skin pass project is a de novo breakthrough in independent integration and innovation of stainless steel cold rolling equipment by relying on Baosteel's own technological strength. During the implementation of EPC mode, Baosteel Engineering took "forming the process and equipment technologies with proprietary intellectual property" as the target, and constructing Baosteel's projects with Baosteel's own technologies as the mission, kept optimizing the design, provided quality service timely, explored and accumulated the experiences in general contracting management, technical documentation, performance of incorporated parts, equipment price, working process and commissioning method, etc., so as to elevate the capability of general contracting and independent integration and innovation to a new step.

In the handover ceremony, Lou Dingbo, Jiang Weimin and Qian Shen made speeches on behalf of the owner, EPC general contractor and constructor respectively, and sincerely congratulated the smooth handover of this new independently integrated and innovated line. They vowed to provide exact, rapid and considerate technical services and guarantee to the project as always, so as to guarantee the project can reach the expected output and profit at an earlier date.

After the handover ceremony, Xu Lejiang etc. inspected the working area of new bright skin pass EPC project. In front of the brand-new stainless steel bright skin pass line, Xu Lejiang shook hands with the operators amiably, and asked about the operating status of the equipment carefully. He urged them to keep learning and innovating to improve the capability of self management, and grasp the production essence as soon as possible, so as to make due contributions to the accelerated development of the enterprise.
