OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2011. Recently, clean production inspection acceptance certificate issued by Shanghai Clean Production Promotion Office is delivered to Baosteel Co.,Ltd. Acceptance comment is that from product design to manufacturing and sales whole process, Baosteel Co.,Ltd. reflects the company's clean production and environmental management sustainable development concept.This is the first time that Baosteel passes the inspection and shows that Baosteel new industrialization sustainable development road is getting wider and wider.

Clean production inspection means investigation and diagnosis of production and service process in accordance with certain procedures and identifing reasons of high energy consumption, material consumption, heavy pollution  and proposing program to reduce the use and production of toxic and hazardous materials, reduce energy and material consumption and waste generation, and selecting technically feasible, cost-effective and environmental friendly clean production program.

In clean production management, through the implementation of "third-flow one-status" energy management and control system, the role of energy management and control with energy-saving target is fully played and energy management and control system is improved.In recent years, Baosteel Co.,Ltd actively practices the environmental philosophy and forms from the green design, procurement, production, product, sales, logistics, industrial whole life-cycle  sustainable development concept.

In the implementation of clean production process, Baosteel Co.,Ltd. starts from the source, uses advanced production technology and manufacturing equipment, widely adopts energy saving technologies; emphasises on process management, improves clean production mechanisms, develops pollution control plan and pollution is decreasing every year; it constantly upgrades technology innovation, builds Baosteel environment automatic monitoring system, resource comprehensive utilization management system and improves environmental management performance; it strictly promotes solid waste source reduction, broadens reproduction and recycling means, promotes industrial projects and reduces solid waste emission in the environment.

In this round of clean production inspection,  a total of 55 clean production programs are raised by Baosteel and 49 have been implemented.Through the implementation of clean production, business environment is effectively improved and economic and environmental benefits have been made, among which, 270 million yuan of economic benefits.It is estimated that annual power saving is 320 million kwh, 96,000 tons of standard coal is saved and 240000 tons of carbon dioxide emission is reduced, 5,000 tons of sulfur dioxide emission is reduced, 40000 tons of waste lime (liquid) is reused, 600 tons of smoke and dust unorganized issuing is reduced and 2.12 million tons of water is saved.
