OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2011. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul had a telephone conversation.

Cordially greeting each other, the leaders of the two states exchanged the New Year greetings and expressed the wishes of happiness, prosperity and new outstanding achievements of the path of drastic reforms to the brotherly peoples of Turkmenistan and Turkey.

During the conversation initiated by the Turkish side President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul discussed a wide range of issues related to multifaceted interstate cooperation and expressed satisfaction with ongoing effective partnership in the bi- and multi-lateral formats. Emphasis was placed on an active contribution that Turkish companies made to implement the ambitious projects and programmes and their participation in joint actions and exhibitions where Turkish partners showcase scientific advances and new engineering solutions which they successfully use to implement construction projects in Turkmenistan. The sides also exchanged views on particular aspects of international and regional politics of mutual interest.

Expressing the profound mutual interest in consistently strengthening the ties of friendship and good neighbourliness bound the two nations from ancient times, the leaders of Turkmenistan and Turkey reaffirmed that their countries stood ready to enhance long-term effective cooperation based on the profound experience of collaboration. In this context the leader of the two states discussed in detail the progress in implementing top level and intergovernmental agreements and harmonized the approaches to furthering mutually advantageous constructive partnership which had, in mutual opinion, the tremendous potential.

Highly evaluating the prospects for building up Turkmen-Turkish contacts in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, the sides underlined the willingness of the two friendly countries to implement new joint projects for the benefit of the peoples in the region.

At the end of the conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Abdullah Gul exchanged the wishes of peace, stability and progress to the brotherly nations.
