AeroSvit Launches Flights to Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam)
OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2011. Ukrainian Airlines will commence scheduled flights between Kyiv and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s largest city, located in the south of the country. The flights to Ho Chi Minh will be performed twice a week – on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The schedule envisages inbound flights back to Kyiv on Mondays and Fridays. Duration of flight between the two cities will be about 11 hours. Wide-body Boeing 767 aircraft will be operated on the line.
The new route will be available to passengers arriving in Kyiv with AeroSvit’s flights from Ukraine’s largest cities as well as from Stockholm, Copenhagen, Prague, Warsaw, London, Vilnius, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Tbilisi, Yerevan, Baku, Dubai, Tel Aviv, Athens and other cities of the Ukrainian Airlines’ route network.
It is assumed that the flights will serve primarily tourist, ethnic and business traffic flows to Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh, previously known as Saigon, is considered to be the largest business, trade and tourist center of the country. In particular, tourists are attracted by the city’s numerous historical and architectural landmarks. Traditional tours to Vietnam also include rest on the South China Sea shore and on the islands in the Eastern part of the Gulf of Siam, visiting ancient cities, Buddhist temples, landscape parks, Mekong’s delta channels as well as other sites of this exotic country.
Besides that, passengers, arriving in Ho Chi Minh from Kyiv, will be able to continue their flight to about 20 destinations in Vietnam as well as other countries of Southeast and Eastern Asia, Australia, in particular Hanoi, Tokyo, Osaka, Sydney, Melbourne, Seoul, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Vientiane. Carriages via Ho Chi Minh to the largest cities of the Asia-Pacific region will be provided by AeroSvit jointly with Vietnam Airlines, its code-sharing partner in operation of Kyiv-Ho Chi Minh line.
