Azersu Improves Water Supply for Refugees and IDPs
OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2011. Azersu OJSC, national water operator of Azerbaijan, continues taking measures aimed at improving water supply of areas in which refugees and IDPs have been settled.
The Company reports that this year it has launched several projects in this direction. An artesian well is being built on this area with the purpose to improve water supply of Yukhari Giyamadinli settlement of Agjabedi region.
After the project is finished the 3,100 people will be provided with drinking water.
An artesian well and two reservoirs with capacity of 25 cu m are under construction in Gapanli settlement of Tartar region of Azerbaijan for the same ends. In parallel, it has been completed construction of a water line with length of 13.2 km. An artesian well was drilled, 2 reservoirs (25 cu m) installed, and a 9.6 km water line laid in Gazyan settlement. Upon completion of works in these settlements, water supply will be provided for the 1,950 citizens.
In Shukyuralilar settlement of Agdam region the Company completed drilling of an artesian well and construction of a reservoir (50 cu m) and a 5.2 km water line. In Kergishlag settlement water is supplied from a new artesian well. Within the project it was built a reservoir (60 cu m) and laid a 4.8 km water line. A 9.3 km water line was laid from Kergishlag settlement to Mireshelli township. The projects will provide drinking water for the 1,391 people.
In Alhanli settlement of Fizuli region the Company has already finished construction of two out of the three planned artesian wells. This project will ensure supplying water for the 1,413 people.
