EU Furthers Homecoming and Legalization of Moldovan Migrants
OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2011. This was announced by the political representative of the EU delegation in Moldova during the meeting of the press-club of the delegation.
He has noted how important it is to create in Moldova new jobs, inform people about labor conditions and labor market in EU as well as about their rights in hosting countries. According to him Moldova has become the first country in the world and the second country in the Eastern Partnership the EU has started cooperation with on mobile partnership. Since 2010 till 2012 the project on supporting the realization of migratory component and development within the framework of the partnership in the field of mobility EU-Moldova has been implemented.
The project is aimed at minimizing the negative impact of migration and using migration advantages for development of Moldova. Strengthening the Moldova’s potential in labor management and homecoming of labor migrants within the framework of the mobility program of EU and Moldova will take 3,215 mln. euros, 3 mln. of them have been allotted by EU, 200 thou. euros by Italy and 15 thou. euros by the Cyprus authorities.
The project has been lasting since February, 2009 till March, 2012. It aim is to further legal mobility between Moldova and EU, to render assistance in search for jobs and carrier enhancement and to reintegrate labor migrants coming back in to the society. Another large project is “Abating negative effects of migration on children and families”. It is valued at 2 mln. euros and will last 2 years.
The aim of this project is to improve economic opportunities for young people, inform the residents of Moldova and Italy about negative social consequences of migration for families, to help children left by their parents-migrants and other vulnerable members of their families. By now, between Moldova and its partners from 15 EU countries it has been launched 85 bilateral and multi lateral projects.
