Baosteel Held Stainless Steel Customer Forum
OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2011. Recently, more than 150 stainless steel customers participate in Baosteel stainless steel customer forum. After listening to the opinions and proposals from the majority of customers, Stainless Steel Division says that they will spend effort to enhance three capabilities:"reduce customer cost ", "meet customers' high-quality product demand" and "improve the capacity of Baosteel stainless steel cutting delivery service" and it will work together with customers to meet the market challenges and achieve mutual development, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.
This year, faced with tough market environment and following customer-oriented principle, Baosteel stainless steel system yields good results in meeting customer demands.Stainless Steel Business Unit newly acquires grinding capacity with annual output of 120,000 t and bell-type annealing capacity with annual output of 180,000 t, which will further optimize the delivery time of main branch products. Ningbo Baoxin newly acquires 60,000 t light board production capacity, which will greatly ease the lack of supply of high quality surface stainless steel .Meanwhile, with the listing of Baosteel Desheng, Baosteel stainless steel production capacity is further expanded and it can provide more competitive products.
Next year, the stainless steel division will focus on developing key stainless steel varieties required by "new energy, new materials" seven strategic new industries supported by national policies, so as to cope with the rise in factor cost by higher value.To this end, Stainless Steel division considers " raising three capabilities" as the focus of the work.
Stainless Steel Business Unit will rely on Baosteel R & D strength, promote industrial upgrading, and provide customers with series of low-cost complete solution.
At the same time, it will expand low-cost raw material procurement channels, play the unique advantages of Baosteel Desheng, achieve mutual supply in Shanghai, Fujian, and Zhejiang , build cost-competitive supply chain system and enhance the "customer cost reduction" capability.
Meanwhile, it will make efforts to promote Six Sigma organization, put lean operations into the site.Through the implementation of key process control points and enhancement of device management, it will continue to improve and stablize product quality and enhance capability of "meeting customers' high-quality product demands" .In addition, next year, Shanghai Stainless Steel and Foshan Baosteel Phase II expansion project will be put into operation, which is an opportunity to further enhance Baosteel stainless steel service delivery capacity and provide customers with the most competitive service.
