OREANDA-NEWS. December 20, 2011. Ukraine has all possibilities in the next two years completely abandon from the import meat products, and need to cover at the expense of domestic production. This was announced by the First vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev at a press conference.

Andriy Klyuyev noted that Ukraine annually imports from 200 to 300 thousand tons of meat products. As he said, during the current year, this index managed to be reduced by 50 tons.

The First vice Prime Minister noted that currently one of the Ukrainian enterprises in the Vinnytsia region is implementing an ambitious project for the production of poultry, "This will be one of the largest industries in the world. There is construction, purchase of technology, equipment," he said and added that the state should stimulate such projects.

Andriy Klyuyev noted that for increasing production and development of agriculture, the Government has developed a number of incentives. This includes the repayment of interest loan for big companies which are engaged in construction of large livestock facilities, assistance in obtaining of credit resources for such production, to stimulate production of new types of grain-crops, increased cost of fertilizer, and restoration of land reclamation.

He stated that he gave orders, and related professionals involved in land reclamation project of restoration of the Ukrainian lands. By expert estimations, for today in Ukraine there was only 20% of the level of Soviet land reclamation. According to Andriy Klyuyev, it is an important way to increase agricultural productivity.

"Agriculture – is the future of our country. This is a rather promising industry, in which it will be needed to invest the significant resources," the First vice Prime Minister emphasized.
