NOMOS-BANK Receives Award for Lending to Industrial Sector
OREANDA-NEWS. December 20, 2011. NOMOS-BANK has received the seventh annual National Banking Award for "achievements in lending to the industrial sector of the economy" from the Association of Russian Banks and National Banking magazine. In 2010 the Bank received the award as "the leader in lending to the industrial sector", reported the press-centre of NOMOS-BANK.
"The industrial sector is traditionally one of the strategic priorities in our business," said the President of NOMOS-BANK, Dmitry Sokolov, "and I hope that our successful partnerships in this sector will be for the long-term."
In choosing the winner, the jury considered the results of banks’ work in lending to industrial enterprises. Among the criteria were the dynamics of loan portfolios, the number of clients, the quality of financial services offered to the industrial sector, and adaptability to clients’ needs and market changes.
NOMOS-BANK is one of the largest lenders in the corporate sector. By the end of the nine month period of 2011, NOMOS-BANK’s corporate loans portfolio reached 341.3 billion roubles, up 37.3% since the end of 2010 (IFRS).
The number of the Bank’s corporate clients increased by 25% so far this year and today NOMOS-BANK serves over 11,100 companies, most of which are medium-sized enterprises. The manufacturing sector accounts for 17.7% of the portfolio, while the mining sector and the non-housing construction sector comprise 14.4% and 11.3%, respectively.
NOMOS-BANK serves a diverse range of clients, including those from food, manufacturing, and chemicals industries, as well mechanical engineering, mining, and energy sectors. A roster of NOMOS-BANK’s clients includes the biggest enterprises of the industrial sector of the economy, companies and organisations of federal level, and medium-sized industrial enterprises.
The National Banking Award, given jointly by the Association of Russian Banks and the National Banking magazine since 2005, is the main professional award of the banking community.
In 2011 the award was given in 12 nominations. More than 60 banks applied for the award. The industry experts and the jury reviewed more than 100 applications.
