OREANDA-NEWS. December 15, 2011. Two large industrial exhibitions opened in Petrozavodsk on December, 7 – the eighth international exhibition Karelian Stone and the fourth specialized exhibition Roads of Karelia.

Yuri Kancher, First Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia, Alexander Hynninen, Chief Federal Inspector in the Republic of Karelia, Alexander Efimov, Minister of Construction of the Republic of Karelia, Denis Sokolov, Deputy Minister of Nature Management and Ecology of the Republic of Karelia, have taken part in the opening ceremonies.

Welcoming participants and guests of both exhibitions, Yuri Kancher has mentioned that to date the mining industry of the republic is on the rise, in ten months of 2011 its production volumes have grown 1.5-fold.

Thus, the potential of enterprises of the mining industry of Karelia is much more. Moreover, the branch has not merely resources for growth, but good prospects for development.

As the First Deputy Head of Karelia has reminded, in 2012 Road Funds will be launched in regions of Russia. Due to gain in financing of road facilities it is planned to repair most of the roads, to build new highways. Construction of high quality requires materials and technologies of high quality, and, in the opinion of experts, Karelian road metal is the best material for road construction.

Let us add, that Karelian Stone-2011 and Roads of Karelia exhibitions were organizered by the Ministry of Nature Management and Ecology of Karelia, Ministry of Construction of the republic and Euroforum exhibition agency.

Exhibitions present materials, equipment, services of enterprises working in mining and road industries in Karelia, other regions of Russia, and foreign countries.

As organizers consider, this event offers the possibility to see new goods and services, and to discuss topical issues of work in branches. Within the scope of exhibitions there will be also held seminars and a conference on the subject of Natural Stone Building Materials in Russia in Modern Conditions of Economy where it is supposed to discuss federal and local legislation in the field of extraction of commonly occurring minerals, cooperation with natural monopolies, including Russian Railways and many other issues.
